
中国科学院与香港地区化学地球动力学联合实验室成立于2008年,由中国科学院广州地球化学研究所和香港大学地球科学系两方合办。实验室院方主任由徐义刚院士担任,负责实验室院方全面工作;港方主任由赵国春院士担任,负责实验室港方全面工作。双方主任共同负责实验室的全面建设管理。
联合实验室面向国家重大战略需求和国际科学前沿开展前瞻性、基础性和应用基础研究。前者围绕“深地”国家重大战略和战略矿产资源安全的重大需求,从构造-岩浆作用耦合演化入手,以建立具原创性的构造-岩浆动力学体系及其成矿理论框架为主攻方向,揭示深地过程与成矿作用的内在联系,厘定成矿的环境演变轨迹和主要控矿因素,为矿产资源勘查和开发提供理论支撑,为构筑我国战略资源安全体系提供决策依据,大幅度提高我国在深地科学领域的水平和国际竞争力。后者瞄准前板块构造与大陆起源这一当今地学领域重大前沿科学命题,对世界典型太古宙克拉通开展综合地质、构造热模拟和行星对比研究,力争构建一个能够圆满解释太古宙大陆起源和演化的前板块构造理论体系。根据发展需要,联合实验室也将行星科学作为未来探索方向。
近五年来,实验室共联合发表75篇SCI论文,包括1篇Science、1篇PNAS、3篇Nature子刊和14篇Nature Index论文。2021年,双方共同完成的“峨眉山大火成省与地幔柱研究”获国家自然科学二等奖。2024年,双方合作在Science杂志上发表关于嫦娥六号月球样品的研究成果,国际首次揭示月球背面火山活动历史与月幔性质,入选“2024年度中国科学十大进展”,相关新闻报道入选“2024年度中国十大科技进展新闻”。
The Joint Laboratory of Chemical Geodynamics, established in 2008, and jointly run by Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Department of Geosciences, University of Hong Kong (HKU), is one of the “Joint Laboratories of CAS and Hong Kong”. The Mainland Coordinator of the laboratory is Prof. XU, Yigang, responsible for the overall administration and academic research of the Joint Laboratory on the CAS side; The Hong Kong Coordinator of the laboratory is Prof. ZHAO, Guochun, responsible for the overall administration and academic research of the Joint Laboratory on the Hong Kong side.
The Joint Laboratory focuses on carrying out cutting-edge, fundamental, and applied research based on the major strategic needs of China and the international scientific frontiers. The former revolves around the "Deep Earth" national strategy and the major demands for strategic mineral resource security, starting from the coupling evolution of tectonics and magmatism, and mainly focusing on establishing an original tectonic-magmatic dynamics system and its metallogenic theory framework. This will reveal the intrinsic connection between Deep Earth processes and mineralization, clarify the environmental evolution trajectory and main controlling factors of mineralization, provide theoretical support for mineral resource exploration and development, and provide a basis for decision-making in constructing China's strategic resource security system, significantly improving the level and international competitiveness of China in the field of deep earth sciences. The latter aims at the major frontier scientific issues in the current geoscience fields, such as pre-plate-tectonics and the origin of continents, conducting comprehensive geological, tectonic thermal simulation, and planetary comparative studies on typical Archean cratons worldwide, striving to establish a pre-plate tectonic theory system that can satisfactorily explain the origin and evolution of Archean continents. According to development needs, the Joint Laboratory will also take planetary sciences as a future exploration direction.
In the past five years, the laboratory has published a total of 75 SCI papers, including one paper on Science, one paper on PNAS, three papers on Nature sub-journals, and fourteen papers on Nature Index journals. In 2021, the “Emeishan Large Igneous Province and Mantle Plume Research” jointly completed by both sides was awarded the Second Prize of National Natural Science Prizes. In 2024, the two sides collaborated to publish research results on lunar samples from Chang'e-6 on Science, which is the first time in the world to reveal the history of volcanic activity on the far side of the moon and the properties of the lunar mantle. It was selected as one of the "Top Ten Scientific Advances in China in 2024", and related news reports were selected as one of the "Top Ten Scientific and Technological Advances in China in 2024" by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
